TRANSIENCE at the Annual Meeting of the SET Plan Implementation Working Group – Industry, Krakow
On 2 June 2025, our colleague Patryk Białas, from Park Naukowo Technologiczny Euro-Centrum, represented the TRANSIENCE project at the Annual Meeting of the SET Plan Implementation Working Group for Industry — a satellite event of EUIndTech2025 held in Krakow.
Patryk contributed to a panel discussion focused on circularity and carbon capture, storage, and use (CCSU), where he shared valuable perspectives on Silesia’s ongoing transition toward a circular economy and industrial decarbonisation, underscoring the critical role of place-based strategies and public-private partnerships in accelerating regional change.
Among his key takeaways, he stressed Silesia as a heavy-industry hub with strong potential and a national leader in selective waste collection and recovery, currently hosting 17 active clusters act as local bridges between industry, circular economy, and the energy transition. He also addressed key regional challenges, including grid limitations until 2030, financial constraints, and gaps in industrial expertise.
During the panel discussion, TRANSIENCE was spotlighted as a key framework supporting regional climate transitions. The project’s efforts to identify systemic barriers, foster inclusive policy development, and empower regions like Silesia to take ownership of their climate-neutral futures were widely acknowledged.
