A.SPIRE Industrial Innovation Days 2026
TRANSIENCE participated at a project-dedicated session at the A.SPIRE Industrial Innovation Days 2026 on October 22, 2026, in Brussels. The event provided a great opportunity for P4Planet projects, like TRANSIENCE and its sister project AMIGDALA, to present their results, connect with industry, and join the A.SPIRE community to explore pathways towards industrial decarbonisation and circularity performance.
During the session, TRANSIENCE project coordinator Alexandros Nikas (ICCS) presented findings from the project's EU-wide case study under the title “Modelling the impacts of circularity and decarbonisation strategies on trade flows and industrial resilience in Europe”. Drawing on the integrated modelling of EU and global Material Flow Analysis (MFA), operationalised within the MIC3 modelling ecosystem, the presentation focused on the passenger cars and plastic packaging sectors, showcasing concrete modelling results and lessons learnt and highlighting how circularity and decarbonisation strategies can influence trade flows and the resilience of European industrial value chains.
The presentation was complemented by interactive workspaces on the project's online platform (IAM PARIS) and followed by the EU-wide survey designed to stimulate further discussion and gather feedback.
Alongside our project’s presentation, the AMIGDALA project coordinator (and member of the TRANSIENCE advisory board) Frank Wubbolts (TNO) also presented progress in and insights from our sister project.
