The future of Silesian Industry

The workshop, organised by our TRANSIENCE consortium partner, Park Naukowo-Technologiczny Euro-Centrum, on September 18, 2024, focused on the future of the Silesian industry. Regional stakeholders engaged in discussions on how various sectors of the local economy are evolving and will continue to evolve to meet climate goals and align with European standards. A key theme that emerged was the integration of green business initiatives and digital technologies with the Silesian region's ethos, identity, and cultural heritage.

The workshop’s conclusions were unequivocal: the transformation of energy-intensive industries towards decarbonisation, circularity, resource efficiency, and sustainable development is a challenging task. This transformation is critical, not only for fostering innovation and economic competitiveness but also for enhancing investment attractiveness and addressing social expectations.
