Internal joint discussion at Wuppertal Institute
An internal joint discussion was successfully held on February 13, 2024, at the Wuppertal Institute and online. Colleagues working on the regional case studies addressed in TRANSIENCE and on modelling-related activities built upon discussions initiated during the project's last General Assembly (October 2024) to further refine model-relevant research questions.
The Utrecht University team kicked off the meeting with a brief recap of previously submitted work, showcasing modelling workflows drafted for each research question. This was complemented by an MIC3 overview, providing key insights into satellite modules—particularly beneficial for non-modelling participants.
In the second part of the discussion, participants selected the most relevant and feasible (from a modelling perspective) research questions or combinations of them. These were then examined in greater depth to assess modelling capacities and potential gaps.
The refinement of research questions will remain an ongoing process throughout the project to ensure alignment between research and modelling.
