TRANSIENCE at the ECEEE Zero Carbon Industry 2026!
On February 3-5, 2026, TRANSIENCE participated at the Zero Carbon Industry conference by European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ECEEE), in Rome, Italy.
Described as the “the best industrial decarbonisation event in Europe”, the conference gathers experts, businesses, researchers, NGOs, and policy makers to exchange views on state-of-the-art energy efficiency and industrial sustainability.
The project was acknowledged in four oral presentations by our consortium partners Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and Wuppertal Institute of Climate, Environment, and Energy (WI):
How circular economy shapes global cement demand: A service provision-based approach, presented by Bennet Weiss (PIK).
REMIND-Materials: IAM-MFA coupling for a comprehensive assessment of climate mitigation options for energy-intensive industries, presented by Leonie Schweiger (PIK).
A modelling framework linking basic material flows to industry transformation, presented by Mathieu Saurat (WI).
Decarbonising the European cement industry – Introducing the ITOM-cement model, presented by Alexander Kling (WI).
